With an 8-0 record at Busch Stadium this season, Adam Wainwright has a chance for one of the best single-season home marks by a Cardinals pitcher.
Among the top home records by a Cardinals pitcher in a season:
_ Ernie Broglio, 13-1 at home (21-9 overall) in 1960.
_ Matt Morris, 15-2 at home (22-8 overall) in 2001.
_ John Tudor, 14-2 at home (21-8 overall) in 1985.
_ Bob Forsch, 12-2 at home (20-7 overall) in 1977
_ Dizzy Dean, 15-4 at home (30-7) overall in 1934.
The best sustained stretch of home pitching might very well have been turned in by right-hander Mort Cooper.
In a three-season period, 1942-44, Cooper had a 38-8 record at St. Louis and was the key pitcher in the Cardinals winning pennants in all three years.
Cooper was 13-4 at home (22-7 overall) in 1942, 13-2 at home (21-8 overall) in 1943, and 12-2 at home (22-7 overall) in 1944.
